Coffee Table Revamp

A year ago I found this table in an old man's front yard. It had a sign sitting on it that read, "free." Of course I jumped on that opportunity and took it! Its finish had been warn off and the wood was stained from water and wear. Burn marks were also abundant on the surface

I began the revamp by sanding the table all over (always sand with the grain of the wood!) to remove the remaining varnish. I used 120 sand paper. Some of the legs had been broken, so I used wood glue and screws to repair the legs. I then covered the entire table in two coats of Valspar Paint & Primer. I painted the trim in black acrylic paint from Jo-Ann fabrics. I found these stud embellishments on clearance at Jo-Ann's for only $1! I think it ended up great.

It's awesome what some sanding, paint and hard work can do!
