Coffee Table Revamp
A year ago I found this table in an old man's front yard. It had a sign sitting on it that read, "free." Of course I jumped on that opportunity and took it! Its finish had been warn off and the wood was stained from water and wear. Burn marks were also abundant on the surface
I began the revamp by sanding the table all over (always sand with the grain of the wood!) to remove the remaining varnish. I used 120 sand paper. Some of the legs had been broken, so I used wood glue and screws to repair the legs. I then covered the entire table in two coats of Valspar Paint & Primer. I painted the trim in black acrylic paint from Jo-Ann fabrics. I found these stud embellishments on clearance at Jo-Ann's for only $1! I think it ended up great.
It's awesome what some sanding, paint and hard work can do!
The Beginning.
Hey! I'm Shelley and I'm new to this whole blogging thing (on Blogger, I've always been a Tumblr addict). A little background - I'm incredibly inspired by turning the simplest, broken down pieces into something special. Most of what I do is find DIYs online, buy broken down garage sale finds and combine those things to make modern pieces. I basically "flip" garage sale furniture.
I also have an Etsy shop, Floral Fields. I sell shorts, headbands and paintings as of now. Jewelry coming soon!
I started this blog to show my work. This might be anything from my art (paintings, multimedia, illustrations), to DIYs, to styling options or my revamps. I can't wait to see what this turns into!
